kabushengaRobert Kabushenga – Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director

Robert joined Vision Group as CEO on January 1, 2007. He is a holder of a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala. He is an advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda and East Africa Law Societies. Robert’s previous work experience includes Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, Company Secretary and Legal Officer of this company as well as Legal and Administration Officer of the Monitor Publications Ltd.


gervasendyanabo1Gervase Ndyanabo – Deputy Managing Director/Chief Finance Officer

Mr. Ndyanabo joined Vision Group in 1989 as an Internal Auditor. He became Chief Internal Auditor in 1995 and then Company Secretary in 2005. Gervase holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from Makerere University and an MBA from Edinburgh Business, United Kingdom. Gervase is a Certified Public Accountant and is a Certified Internal Auditor. He is a member of the Institutes of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda and Kenya, and The Global Institute of Internal Auditors.


ritaRita Kabatunzi – Company Secretary

Ms. Kabatunzi holds a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University and a Masters of Business Administration from University of Leicester. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), a qualified Chartered Secretary and an Advocate with over ten years of experience. She previously served as Head of Legal, Compliance & Risk and as Strategy Officer. Ms. Kabatunzi was a contributor to the IFC Global Secretaries Tool Kit and serves part time as a Corporate Governance trainer.


IMG_2047 copyPeace Kabatangare – Chief Internal Auditor

Peace holds an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot Watt University and a Bachelor of Science in Land Use and Management from Makerere University. She is a Certified Internal Auditor, a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (Uganda chapter) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK). Peace has experience in internal audit, external statutory/financial audit, risk management and financial reporting. She previously worked with EY Global, Lafarge Holcim in Uganda and aBi Trust and Finance.




Barbara Kaija – Editor in Chief

She joined the New Vision in 1992 as a sub-editor trainee and rose through the ranks to Deputy Features Editor and then Features Editor, a position she held for ten years. In 2006, she was appointed deputy Editor-in-Chief and in April 2010, she was promoted to Editor-in-Chief. She holds a Masters Degree in Journalism and Media studies of Rhodes, South Africa and a post graduate Diploma in Practical Journalism from the Thompson Foundation, Cardiff, United Kingdom. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education of Makerere University and a Masters Degree in Education from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. Mrs. Kaija is a World Editor Forum Fellow of the International Journalism Exchange 2007. Her specialist is in development journalism and she has coached and groomed many journalists in Uganda towards this. In 2012, Barbara received the National Jubilee Award in recognition of her contribution to the media in Uganda. Her current responsibilities include overseeing the editorial strategy and journalistic standards of the Vision Group media platforms.


gloriahrGloria Agira – Chief Human Resource Officer

Gloria joined Vision Group as Human Resource Officer in 2007 and has since grown through the management ranks to appointment as Chief Human Resource Officer in November, 2014. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University and a post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management. She is GPI (Glowinkowski Prediposition Indicator) accredited and a Member of Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda.


Susan Nsibirwa – Head of Marketing

Ms. Nsibirwa joined Vision Group in Feb 2011 as the Head of Marketing. Prior to this, Susan was Head of Marketing at DFCU Bank. She has also worked for Commercial Microfinance Limited , MTN Uganda, Saatchi &Saatchi and has a wealth of media and advertising experience of 20 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication.




hopeHope Nuwagaba- Head of Sales

Hope joined Vision Group in 2000 as a freelance sales executive and has since risen to different managerial positions the recent appointment being the Head of Sales. Prior to the appointment, she held the position of Senior Manager Agencies & Corporate. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Social Administration from Makerere University and has experience of over 10 years in sales management.



markwalungama1Mark Walungama – Head of Television

Mark joined Vision Group as Head of Television on August 1. 2010. He holds a Bachelor of Mass Communication (broadcast major), and a postgraduate diploma in television journalism. He also holds a certificate in satellite live television broadcasting. He previously worked as Press secretary to the Vice President, information officer the Uganda News Agency, and was TV Station Manager for Uganda Broadcasting Corporation.



billBill Tibingana – Head of Radio

Bill Tibingana has worked with radio for the past 13 years with over eight radio start-up projects. He started out at as a research officer at Capital FM back in 1998 while studying Business Computing at Makerere University Business School and rose through to Program Director in 2004. He later joined Vision Group in 2007 and administered the establishment and integration of five radio stations into the group. He studied Commercial Radio Programming at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School in 2003 and has fellowshipped at various stations around the world including Kenya, UK, Germany, USA, Belgium and Australia.


David Semugga – Head of Operations

Mr. David joined the Company in 1991 and served as Assistant Technician and rose through the ranks to become the Head of Engineering in 2007, a position he held for nine (9) years and is currently the Head of Operations after being promoted in 2016. David is a holder of a Masters of Business Administration (Management) from Nkumba University and a Bachelor of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Kyambogo University.



Umar Luyimbazi – Head of Printing

Umar joined Vision Group in July 2011 as a Risk Officer. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics from Makerere University and is currently pursuing an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, United Kingdom. He has experience in budgeting, audit, risk management, taxation, public procurement and strategy development. 

Umar has previously served Vision Group as Manager Procurement and as Risk & Strategy Officer.


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 17th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) of New Vision Printing & Publishing Company Limited will be held at the head offi ce of the company, Plot 19/21 First Street Industrial
Area, Kampala on Thursday, November 22nd 2018 at 3:00pm to conduct the following business;

1. To receive, consider and if approved adopt the annual financial statements for the year ended 30th June
2018 together with the report of the Auditors.
