Donating Computers to Makerere

DONATION OF COMPUTERS TO EMPOWER THE YOUTH AT MAKERERE UNIVERSITY

In a move to improve journalism training amongst the students of Makerere University revamped the computer laboratory at Makerere University department of Journalism and communication, Vision Group donated computers to train students in modern communication and investigative journalism.

Handing-over the computers to the department, the Company’s Board Chairman David Ssebabi said the donation symbolised the aspiration of Vision Group to elevate the quality of Journalism in the country.
“As a responsible media group that prides in the source of its personnel, we want the best for both of us,” Ssebabi reiterated.
Mr. David Ssebabi who was accompanied by the Manager Legal and Compliance and the Chief Operations Officer urged the department to focus on grooming multi-skilled journalists who can excel on multiple media platforms.


Vision Group’s Board of Directors chairman hands over computers to the heads of the Department of Mass Communication while the Company’s Chief Operations Officer looks on.

Receiving the computers, the Acting Head of Department, Dr. Aaron Mushenyezi lauded Vision Group for the donation saying it showed that their longstanding partnership and commitment towards empowering the youth was still healthy.
Vision Group was commended for the noble support to the department and helping investigative journalism students in publishing their stories.

The Vision Group has also continually devoted its journalists to teach practical courses to the youth.
